Cheo Gonzalez
Chilean artist Cheo Gonzalez, based in London, utilizes religious iconography, urban walls, and queer eroticism to critically engage in political discourse, addressing themes like Christian fundamentalism and totalitarianism. After conducting extensive research on queer culture in Brazil, he is currently pursuing a Master’s in Fine Arts at the University of the Arts London. His work has been showcased, curated, or published in Chile, Brazil, the UK, and the USA, featuring in notable venues such as the Museum of Sexual Diversity in São Paulo and Cookhouse in London.
During the study of the Master degree, Cheo and Wenhan Cui were flatmates in Glassyard Building. Wenhan Cui went to the Cookhouse Gallery on the day before the exhibition opened (2024/1/17) and photographed the process of Cheo and his teammates installing the artworks.
